My 7-inch Better Than This arrived today, and I'm soooo happy, because it's soooo beautiful <3
Sadly enough, I can't listen to it yet, because I don't have the right equipment xD My grandma' does however, so the next time I visit her I will bring it ;)
I love to look at it thoughm and let's not forget the cool 3D-glasses I got with it (LOL, they're sooo ugly, but charming) :)
HAHAAH, I look perfectly awful in those :P But honestly, no one can wear those and still look good right? :P
Well, that's all for now. I really really really have to make Christa write here soon (although I perfectly understand why she doesn't. Poor, busy girl. love you Christa :D)
It's been a year since I heard Keane the first time in my entire life.
It all started when me and my friend Johanna were queueing for a concert with a band called Kent. We we discussing which song we'd do as our musicproject. She suggested Bedshaped with a band called Keane, which I'd never heard of. She played it for me on her MP3. I was... speechless! What a wonderful song! I agreed that we'd play that one!!! And I listened to it over and over and over again to learn it by heart, and I never got tired of it. We played it in front of the whole class (I played the piano and sang, johanna played bass and sang, and our friend Diana played the drums). We got the highest grade! (I'll attach a music-file of this preformance some other day, because I don't have it on this computer)
Anyway, right now, I can't believe the change in my life since I first heard them. They are one of the most important things in my entire life now <3
Thank you Johanna for playing Bedshaped for me that day! It's still one of my favorite Keane-songs ever. I love it very very very much.
One year!!!!
Here's a live-vid and the lyrics to the amazing song Bedshaped. Honestly, how can they manage to make such a brilliant song? And Tim... ah, what a genious he is!!!
Many's the time I ran with you down The rainy roads of our old town Many the lives we lived in each day And buried altogether
Don't laugh at me Don't look away You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes, and on your own Bedshaped, and legs of stone You'll knock on my door, and up we'll go In white light, I don't think so But what do I know, what do I know? I know
I know you think I'm holding you down And I've fallen by the wayside now And I don't understand the same things as you But I do
Don't laugh at me Don't look away You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes, and on your own Bedshaped, and legs of stone You'll knock on my door, and up we'll go In white light, I don't think so But what do I know, what do I know? I know
And up we'll go In white light, I don't think so But what do I know, what do I know? I know
As you probably know, Better Than This is going to be the next single to be released.
Release date is the 16th of March :D I pre-ordered my copy yesterday! It's very nice because they will send you 3D-glasses for the 3D-live show I told you about this monday!
I'm a bit sad though, that there isn't any b-sides except for a remix :/
Test copied from keanemusic.com: LIVE 3D WEBCAST ON APRIL 2ND
On 2nd April 2009 Keane will make history with the world’s first ever live webcast in 3D. The band will record the live session at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, the home of The Beatles' historic first ever satellite broadcast, and will feature live mixed graphics from world-renowned digital artists D-Fuse.
“We believe that the tradition of rock'n'roll is to always innovate, to bring new ideas and concepts into music. We are therefore incredibly excited about the prospect of being the first band to beam our music live in 3D over the internet. Over the last couple of years, our website has become a hive of artistic creativity for us and our fans. On April 2nd at 8pm (UK time), hundreds of thousands of those fans will be able don their 3D glasses and watch us play some songs from our new record, Perfect Symmetry. We will be broadcasting from Abbey Road, scene of the first ever live satellite broadcast - The Beatles ‘All You Need Is Love’ - and we hope that this will become a similarly powerful new way for music to connect people all over the world.” (Tom, Tim and Richard)
3D glasses will be available from keanemusic.com and all retailers with the 7-inch of the new single Better Than This on 16th March. (We're also hoping to show you how to make your own 3D glasses.)
The audio from the gig will also be simultaneously broadcast live on-air on newly launched national station Absolute Radio.
Oh God! I'm unbelievably excited about this!!! freakiiiing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
